Remember to make your new year's resolutions, and celebrate safely. If you have something you wanted to do this year but never got around doing, you still have three and a half hours. Don't leave regrets to the new year, leave them all here.

Two days. Please make it before Christmas, dear. Don't I sound like a house wife? I must be experiencing a form of cabin fever. It is quite frightening.

Oh my. It seems Ga-chan didn't get here yet. Or am I just very blind? I don't think so, he would've knocked my shoulder by now if he were here. Goodness gracious, no matter how much I dislike saying that. Sometimes I wish I could just travel with him as much as my heart can take. Why did I become an author? No matter how much I enjoy writing, being harrassed by my editor 24/7 every other month is definitely killing whatever life I could have. Is it any wonder my inner eye is getting so dim people start paying attention to my unfortunate handicap? Ga-chan. Save me.

Which is also the reason I didn't get here until now. Though I can't help but think maybe it was the better this way? Surely you, my old students, came here to meet each other, not your old senseitachi. : )

Why do children rush to solve their troubles with violence? Due to that violence a young talented writer is now in a hospital. Problems are to be solved with as little casualties as possible. This happens by talking to adults and letting them offer their help and guidance on the subject. Walking down the path of violence is just wrong. I wish we will all spare a moment to think about this. Take a deep breathe and think about what you're doing. Is there a better way?

"Whoever settles a matter by violence is not just.
The wise calmly considers what is right and what is wrong.
Whoever guides others by a procedure
that is nonviolent and fair
is said to be a guardian of truth, wise and just."

- The Just by Lord Buddha (the whole poem can be read here.

Adding to Northlake-sensei's words: For those uninvolved in this tragedy please do remain calm and try and return to your daily routines. Attend your classes as normal and try to refrain from gossipping as much as possible. When something like this happens, it always makes you stop and think, but please do not use this as a get-away from your duties as students. Thank you.

For those involved and feel like they need some time off, get permission to be absent from your classes. This may sound unimportant in the light of events, but on the behalf of the school staff, do remember. When you already have a fail mark, it's harder for us to change it in your files later than if you ask for time off now. We can arrange for you to complete your courses on a later time.

(ooc: He's worried sick, but he was asked to bring things under control again. Yamato should be visiting the hospital too >> Oh, well, maybe later. SOON.)

It's becoming hard for me to use my journal. There is a certain feature in my computer that has broken, and so I am in need of some manual help. I hope everyone enjoys their vacation, you have all earned it. Yes, I did read your last assignments. They were very amusing. Please do your best to get into youthful trouble, you who leave this school to visit distant places and to have adventures beyond your imagination! It's a part of growing up, so do it well : )

snakes begone!
I greet the new students with the words of a famous poet Kimiko Hahn:

Things don't die or remain damaged
but return: stumps grow back hands,
a head reconnects to a neck,
a whole corpse rises blushing and newly elastic.
Later this vision is not True:
the grandmother remains dead
not hibernating in a wolf's belly.
Or the blue parakeet does not return
from the little grave in the fern garden
though one may wake in the morning
thinking mother's call is the bird.
Or maybe the bird is with grandmother
inside light. Or grandmother was the bird
and is now the dog
gnawing on the chair leg.
Where do the gone things go
when the child is old enough
to walk herself to school,
her playmates already
pumping so high the swing hiccups?

-In Childhood

I never participated in the adventure you children went on some weeks ago, due to some unfortunately timed family events, but I know you all had wonderful time. I have seen the joy of adventure creeping into your texts and it's admittably thrilling. Some so much I have forgotten to mark you grammar mistakes! I'm impressed, bravo!

A student told me I should write in my internet journal more. They said I haven't done it since they started reading my journal. So, some of you actually read this : ) I'm glad to hear I have awoken such feelings in some of you. I acknowledge having been so absorbed in the sheer joy of living that writing into my journal has completely slipped my mind.

Also, what would you kids want to do in this last week before the vacation? There's room for one more assignment : ) I'm taking up suggestions in order to make this week enjoyable for all of us. Speak up, speak up : )

The weather has been very nice in Tokyo this week. I have enjoyed my stay in my parents' house, but now I am very much missing back to the school. I'm sure we all feel the same. In fact, to celebrate the new school year, I have the most wonderful plan for the first classes. Yes, I'm serious, do look forward to them. : )

I truly love my job! : D My students are so cute and hard-working, and I have the most wonderful collegues. I know I'm a little late with this but the match I saw was the most interesting experience.

Back to my adorable, sweet little students. I think we'll go outside monday if there's snow. Let's make a snowman to guard this beautiful school : )

Ryoga-sensei and I arrived here a little while ago. Ever since our arrival I have been working my hardest to finish the next book of Utani Hiroki's fabulous adventures. I am nearly there, after months of blood, sweat and tears.

Writing a book is like stepping into a new world and experiencing the life and death situations, romances and even the long and boring parts of the journey I create, as if they were really happening. This is truly what I teached you long ago: Every life is a new story, waiting to be written and every day is a new adventure, where anything can happen.

I am glad to be here again.

random information
As I was ill for a while there, I was unable to hold your classes like I promised. It was the most unfortunate thing to happen. : ( That is why we must all be bubbling with excitement to finally get to the heart of Literature once the school starts again in January. : )

For that first Monday's class, I would like everyone to write three memories from the camp you were just on. You can do this in a form of an essay or you can make a list, whichever pleases your eyes more. I will give you no further instructions, use your young vivid imagination : ) I would like you to write this assignment as soon as possible, so you will have more time on your very deserved vacation. Remember, memories are fading little things.

Have a merry Christmass, everyone!
